Oct. 3, 1989 - the the German unity day
HAPPY GERMANCEST DAY! I hope I'm not too late!  I've been wanting to submit Germancest, but it came out quite... emo. XD aaargh... hahah Actually the Berlin wall came down on November 9 in that same year but eeeeehh.. might as well submit this. The Germans didn't think it was an appropriate date for the Unity day because it was also the anniversary of the first large-scale Nazi-led pogroms against Jews in 1938 (Kristallnacht), so the day was considered inappropriate as a national holiday.
